The Application of English Movies to the New English Teaching Model

Based on the computer technology,the new college English teaching model aims at making English teaching more practical,informative and interesting so as to mobilize students' initiative.Undoubtedly,with the advantages of real language materials,rich cultural knowledge and attractive plots,English movies have become the English teaching material exactly matched to the new teaching model.To apply English movies to the new model,we have to analyze the approaches of using them in three different courses,namely,reading,writing and translating course,audio-visual course as well as web-based autonomous learning.
