Wavelet Analysis and Its Applications to the Gravitational Field and Magnetic Field

In this paper, we give a brief introductory to the princple of wavelet analysis that includes wavelet transform, discrete wavelet transform, frame theory, multiresolution analysis(multiscale analysis) and its development and the second generation wavelet(lifting scheme), and the results of its applications to the gravitational field and magnetic field. On the base of researching into the results, some defects such as the criterion of how to choose a better mother wavelet and the resolution schememodel wavelets are presented.
