An Analysis of the Interrelated Problems in Kao Gong Ji Jie Written by Xu Guangqi

Xu Guangqi,a famous scientist lived in the Ming Dynasty wrote the book Kao Gong Ji Jie,which recorded the advantages of several specialists.There are a few unsettled problems as the book had been out of the academic scope for a long time.This paper holds that Xu accomplished the book in 1621,and in 1623 Mao Zhaohai published it after he wrote the postscript.The annotations at the top of the page are considered to have been added by Xu Guangqi.Despite some errors following the old views,generally speaking,it is undoubtedly that the book embodies scientific and technological value that should be a part of the achievement of Xu.
