An Adaptive Shaper Used for Enhancing TCP Performance over DiffServ

Based on the analysis of Differentiated Services (Diffserv) Architecture, we focus on its TCP performance in this paper. We present a new idea of using the shaper that is a traffic conditioner based on Rate Regulation via Early Adaptive Detection(READ),which uses knowledge of TCP congestion control behavior to proactively regulate flow throughput to achieve the desired rate,thus enhancing TCP performance.
