MIMO and higher order modulation in HSPA

Zheng Jian-hong · Journal of Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications · 2008

High speed packet access evolution(HSPA+) is a B3G(Beyond the third generation) system which aims at improving the current HSPA with less cost of equipment upgrading.Based on the introduction of HSPA+ in 3GPP,this paper discusses the MIMO and higher order modulation which are used for improving the performance of the current HSPA system.Simulation result shows that these improvements are comparable to those of long-term evolution of UMTS terrestrial radio access network in a 5 MHz deployment.
