taTHP: an Improved Transaction Model Based on THP
Bing Li · Mini-micro Systems · 2007
With the rapid development of e-business, Web service is becoming a new application model for the distributed computing based on the Web. Strict ACIDity and isolation in traditional transaction management is not appropriate for a loosely coupled world of the autonomous web service transactions, where the resources may not be acceptable to lock exclusively for a long period. In other words, the transaction technologies for web service have to provide the abilities to coordinate loosely coupled or autonomous transactions. This paper presents a new transaction model based on THP (Tentative Hold Protocol), which has the ability to apperceive the success probability of a transaction. With the help of the further progress in reservation-pattern, it makes a great improvement in the success-rate of transactions.
