The Atypical "X Zhene" as a Typical Construction and Its Fossilization

The construction of X zhene can express the state of the action,behavior or the nature of X.V zhe+ne is the prototype of X zhene,which is extended to A zhe+ne by analogy,and then is reanalyzed as A+zhene.The latter is the atypical member of such a prototypical category.A zhe+ne and A+zhene highlight the dynamism and degree of adjective respectively.The dynamism is highlighted due to the integration of X zhe+ne as a construction.Degree is the typical semantic features of adjective.Therefore,the constructional meaning changes from expressing dynamic durative to static degree,owing to the reaction of the lexical meaning,which function shifting to the adjective itself.
