Application of Cluster Analysis to Risk Classification in Industrial Accidents

Cluster analysis was introduced.A cluster analysis was conducted on the industrial accidents in recent years by taking severe injury rate(persons/10 thousand) and death rate(persons/10 thousand) as the indexes.Risk was classified on these accidents according to the difference in industry,which included10 grades.Among them,the risk in mining industry ranked the top;then is the one in the industry of power,manufacturing and supplying of gas and water.The risk in other industries was relatively low including education,culture,art and broadcast,agriculture,forestry,stockbreeding and fishery,government offices and social communities of health,sports and social welfare.This study provides foundations for the decision-making of management departments of work safety and insurance departments.
