A Method for Automatic Detection of Geometric Features of Medical Images

There are many methods for medical image registration. The principle of them is to extract appropriate image features, and to decide which registration transformation to be used according to features selected. So the extraction of image features is the most important step for image registration. There are many kinds of image features to be used for registration, such as image edges,marks outside of image, etc. In this paper is presented a method to extract the image ridge feature for image registration, and good results were obtained.
