WMN (Wireless Mesh Networks, WMN) is a new type of next-generation network technology. Unlike any traditional networks, it relies on no fixed infrastructure, and the hosts may rely on each other to keep the network connected. Wireless internet service providers may use it to provide fast, easy, and inexpensive network deployment. A main challenge in the design of these networks is their vulnerability to security attacks. In this paper, the architecture and the characteristics of the wireless mesh network is described, and the existing safety threats and critical security mechanisms are studied and analyzed.
