Study on TCP-Friendliness of RWLM Protocol over Wired Channel

Dong Yin · Acta Scientiarum Naturalium Universitatis Sunyatseni · 2005

A receiver_based wireless layered multicast congestion control protocol, called as RWLM, is proposed. The congestion detection mechanism, receiver state machine and TCP_friendly congestion control algorithm are described in detail. The TCP_friendliness of RWLM over wired channel is the keystone of this paper. The experiments indicate that under different conditions (e.g. different amount of competitive flows, packet size or buffer size), RWLM achieves excellent performance in TCP_friendliness over wired channel.
