Wireless sensor networks are Ad hoc wireless networks consist of large resource-constrained device that interact with environment closely,which have broad prospect in many application areas.First its characteristics and software research progress is summarized.Then the challenges in software it faces is discussed.Finally a middleware architecture is studied.
