Automatic Comparison Algorithm of Bullet Marks

In order to check and analyze bullet marks accurately and effectively,an automatic comparison algorithm of bullet marks was presented.First,the algorithm eliminates noise within the bullet marks data with smoothing filter method.Then,it extracts the feature points of each section contour of bullets on the basis of the changes in slope.Finally,it judges the degree of coincidence of two bullet marks according to comparing the similarity among the feature points of two bullet marks with correlation analysis,which has access to the aim of automatic matching bullet marks.The algorithm programs with MATLAB,and has the advantages of simple,efficient,less errors,and suitable for most of the automatic comparison of bullet marks.
