Development and future of GIS

GIS is a technology based on earth science and computer science whic h started in 1965. Now, it has been a hot research field that affects many sides of society life. In this paper, the development history of GIS is reviewed, and the construction, functions and classification of GIS are discussed, finally, t he future of GIS is also discussed.
