The Whole Negation and Partial Negation of Sentences

Sun Ru-jian · Journal of Nantong Teachers' College · 2004

Negation of sentences consists of whole negation and partial negation. These two features of negation depend on the place where the negative structure is located. It is whole negation when the negative structure is put in the place of predicate part, and partial negation focus, which concerns the concrete, the negative stretch concerns the abstract negative sentences. The negative focus has its own form of expression, its appearance should follow the comparative focus. The negative intensity has an intimate relationship, but also has certain correspondence with the negative elements, patterns, and word order. Lastly, the negative morphemes also have negative effect to some extent.
