Application of Male Soldiers’ 3D Head Forms DMS Based on CT

In order to explore the colony diversity of modern human head forms and to optimize the modern head equipments design, the malesoldiers’ 3D head forms data management system is developed. The DMS could extract and fit CT slices’ contours , with which the DMS couldreconstruct three dimensional head model. By managing 1 082 samples from seven military areas, it could finally build classified standard headmodel according to the distinct head-face characteristics. The result of this paper can be used to classify the army’s head-face equipment, and betaken as reference of helmets design. It can also be applied to the field of anthropological research.
