An iris localization algorithm based on geometrical characteristics

The velocity and accuracy of iris localization are crucial in iris identification system.According to the gray levels of the pupil,iris,and sclera,iris image histograms are established and the threshold values are determined to realize the positioning of the inside edges.With the morphology algorithm in combination of new Hough transform,the outside edges of the iris images are located,and the centers and radii of outer circles are determined.The simulation results show that the present method has good effect on real-time performance and positioning realization of inside and outside the edges.
