Study on Packet Loss during Transmission of Sporadic Multicast Data

This paper proposes configuration of static multicast groups to avoid loss of packets during transmission of sporadic multicast data in some redundant network architecture that transmits critical control data in heavy background traffic following analysis of the mechanism of the problem.Experiment verification shows that the method effectively solves the problem in engineering practice.Adequate attention is called for on equipment that could flood multicast data in a transmission link during design of network architecture and effective measures should be taken to prevent the problem of packet loss in order to ensure the correctness and integrity of multicast data transmitted.
