Security Mechanism and Analysis of Wireless Local Area Network

The authentication and wired equivalent privacy (WEP) of WLAN are briefly introduced. RC4 encryption algorithm is adopted by WEP, but the usage of initial rector(IV) and information integration check in WEP have theoretically proved to be somewhat unsecure. IEEE 802.11 group presented some improvement schemes to increase the security performance of WLAN.
