A hues varying based on image fuzzy quantization method

This paper analyses the defect of the HSV space uniformly quantized into 256 bins in scalable color descriptor of MPEG-7.A method about nonuniform quantization of the HSV space is proposed.As far as human vision feature,the transition between two hues is a process that one become weaker and another stronger.A fuzzy quantization strategy is proposed to linearly simulate the transition between two hues.Precision,recall and ANMRR recommended by MPEG-7 are used in this paper to evaluate experimental results.The experimental results show that the effect of nonuniform quantization of the HSV space is better than uniform one and the use of fuzzy quantization strategy improves the effect of nonuniform quantization.
