Rule-Based POS Tagging in English-Chinese MT System

This paper is intended to present a rulebased POS tagging algorithm for EnglishChinese MT system. The tagging set, organizational structure of MT lexicon, and disambiguation rules are carefully devised to meet special requirements of automatic translation. Experimental results indicate a high tagging accuracy and great convenience for performing syntactical analysis.
