A novel multiple-image encryption algorithm is proposed based on wavelet transform and double random phase encoding. Using the multi-level decomposition properity of wavelet transform, the method combines the low frequency components of plain-images into a single image. Then, the combined image is encrypted by double random phase encoding. The lateral superposition way with low frequency portions avoids the crosstalk, increases the system capacity and improves the speed of encryption. The idea of generating random phase masks with chaotic maps increases the sensitivity of keys while the key volume decreases. Finally, numerical experiments show that the proposed method is effective on multiple-image encryption, extremely sensitive to keys and robust.
