SAR Image Bridge Detection Using Regularized Heat Diffusion Equation

A novel method for automatic recognition of bridges in SAR image is proposed in this paper.A regularized anisotropic diffusion model based on original anisotropic diffusion equations is constructed using a novel diffusion function and numerical approach.The model is used for multi-scale anisotropic smoothing of the posterior probability matrices.Finally,after getting the accurate segmentation of river in SAR images,the directional energy function was used as the criterion for identifying bridges in the binary image of the rivers.The effect of speckles can be got rid of and the important structure information preserved by the proposed algorithm.Experimental results show that this method is accurate for detecting bridges.
