Adaptive estimation for joint spectrum in polarizational and spatial domains

The adaptive estimation method is presented for the MUSIC joint spectrum in polarizational and spatial domains. At first, the array covariance matrix is updated by the current received signal vector through the exponential window method. Then, exploiting the matrix perturbation theory, the second order correction method of matrix eigendecomposition to update the eigenvalues and eigenvectors is proposed. Especially, when the smallest eigenvalues are equal, only the signal subspace is update and let the noise subspace alone. According to the updated signal subspace, the new joint spectrum can easily be obtained by the MUSIC method. The simulation results show the reliability of the novel adaptive spectral estimation algorithm.
