Image-denoising algorithm based on wavelet transform

A locally adaptive denoising algorithm in the wavelet domain is presented.It can improve the denoising performance by taking into account the inter-scale dependencies among wavelet coefficients.In estimating wavelet coefficients,a simple but effective method between hard and soft thresholding is employed.Experimental results show that the algorithm proposed in this paper is effective both in removing noise and in reserving the edges.
