Cosmic-ray rejection by an image restoration technique on the spectroscopic CCD image

A method was proposed to find and remove cosmic-rays from single spectroscopic CCD images.First,a modified median filter was used to identify pixels that are likely to be contaminated by cosmic-ray,as noise candidates.Then an edge-preserving technique,called TV inpainting,was used to restore the noise corrupted pixels.The method was applied to spectroscopic CCD images.The result shows that cosmic-ray can be well-rejected without obvious degradation on the pixel flux value.
