Application of Modbus protocol in communication software design of automatic bus transfer

A study on Modbus protocol is given,which is applied in the internal communication of ABT(Automatic Bus Transfer) and the communication between ABT and its superordinate station. Modbus protocol and its message frame are introduced in detail,and the operation process of ABT is analyzed with the automatic transfer types of bus bar breaker as an example. The multi - CPU platform of ABT is briefly introduced. According to the data types and transmission characteristics of the monitoring parameters,a simplified information sorting solution is designed. The whole com-munication procedures are explained.
