Local computing of Web system based on XML

The local computing of web system means to transfer part of server-side oprations to client browser, which reduce the burden of network and improve the overall efficiency. With a simple practical example, this paper gives a solution of implementing the local computing of web system based on XML. In this solution, server-side data is downloaded in the form of data island to client browser, and local computing is implemented by executing client-side scripts which provides access to data island via DOM.
