The Methods of Studying Monosyllabic Synonyms in Guangya Shuzheng

In Guangya Shuzheng,there is a big multitude of synonym differentiation and analysis,an overwhelming majority of which is synonym justification.Observation of the book discloses the methods employed by the compiler in justifying and discriminating synonyms.To achieve the former goal,the compiler resorts to example sentences,ancient annotation and colloquial language;to achieve the latter one,the compiler employs semantic definition and also discriminates synonyms in broad or narrow meanings.
