Study of Loudspeaker-room Equalization of IIR Filter Structure

The multipoint equalization technique is studied due to deviations of loudspeaker response at different points in a room.The generally known method using the common acoustical poles of room transfer functions may cause degradations at other frequency ranges.To solve this problem,a novel solution achieved with an infinite impulse response(IIR) filter is proposed.Results obtained from computer simulations and measurements of a real-time implementation show that this method can greatly suppress the peaks due to resonance while not affect the flatness of amplitude response at other frequency bands.
