Study on Drying Technology of 65mm Thick Shorea spp.Lumber
Meng Yan · China Forest Products Industry · 2015
65mm thick Shorea spp.lumber and four different kinds of drying schedules were used to explore the lumber drying process. The results indicated that surface moisture content of the lumber decreased faster but moisture migration from core layer to surface layer was slower. The experiments showed that the lumber cracked easily when initial temperature was too high and drying rate was too fast. The fluctuant drying process with temperature monitoring device controlling the implementation of the drying process can effectively reduce 65 mm thick timber cracking in Shorea spp.drying process and shorten the drying period.
