On the Sonic Logging Data Compression Based on LZW Algorithm

Due to the limitation of the transportation bandwidth and the rapid increase of acoustic logging data,it's very difficult to transport the logging data to the ground in real time.In order to fulfill the real-time data transportation,a loss-less real-time data compression method based on LZW is presented in this paper.And then we proposed the Hash function to improve the efficiency of the dictionary searching.The results show that the compression ratio is 50.18%,the dictionary average searching length is below 2,and it's easy to use this algorithm for hardware system.
