Performance evaluation of connection oriented user initiated session based on discrete time queueing

Connection oriented mechanism of TELNET connection and FTP control connection is analyzed, a Geom/G/1 discrete-time queueing model with setup period-close period is built based on the connection oriented mechanism, the queueing model is studied, the distribution and stochastic decomposition of steady length, waiting time, busy period and busy cycle are derived, correspondingly, network performance measures of response time, connection building (releasing) ratio, running efficiency and idle ratio are studied. Based on an exmple, performance curve is presented.
