Application of correlation analysis on fire alarm receipt and disposal data

Wen Ma · Fire Science and Technology · 2010

The correlation analysis in SPSS is adopted to analyze the fire alarm receipt and disposal data in a certain city from 2003 to 2006.Four describable attributes are selected as correlation variables, including the time of receiving alarms, the duration of disposal, the number of turnout vehicles and the number of the firefighters, then the Pearson correlation coefficient,Spearmen correlation coefficient and Kendall τ correlation coefficient between every two variables are calculated. Results show that there is a high linear correlation between the number of turnout vehicles and firefighters, while there is no correlation between the time of receiving alarms and the duration of disposal,as well as between these two and the number of turnout vehicles and firefighters.
