Motion control in industrial automation system is placing increasing demands on the position feedback mechanisms. When an unsuitable Resolver-to-Digital(RDC) method is adopted, angle measuring error will increase.Traditional tracking RDC is limited by its frequency response band-width.Thus it is not fit for the angle measuring system which requires fast frequency response.Otherwise,it will bring large tracking error to angle measuring system.IC is used to fulfill RDC function. It is high cost, and its peripheral parameter is difficulty to tune. With rapidly development of microprocessors, they are more and more applied in motion control systems. To take full of the resource of DSP,RDC function can be accomplished with its redundant hardware and software.A DSP-based RDC method is presented,in which a fast tracking method is proposed to implement resover-to-Digital conversion.Simulation results show the superior performance of the fast tracking Resover-to-Digital conversion method. The proposed method is fit for practical using. It can simplify the hardware, and its parameter is easily tuned.
