APPLICATION OF FERRITIC AND COPPER-ALLOY STEAM SEAL GLANDS ON 300 MW STEAM TURBINES
Huangfu Ya-fei · Thermal Power Generation · 2003
Traditional alloy steel materials were used for steam seal glands on four 300 MW steam turbines in Xiangfan Power Plant, Through systematic analysis, it is considered that the serious steam seal gland leakage was caused by the bad quality of said glands' materials, making the vacuum to come down, influencing seriouly upon the economic and safe aspects of said units. Hence, technical retrofit of the said glands has been carried out, new ferritic and copper-alloy materials having been used for them, greatly enhancing the economic and safe aspects of the said units.
