Main memory databases(MMDB) are essential for radio frequency identification(RFID) middleware to effectively implement filtering, grouping and counting operations.Common MMDB with a T-tree index structure can not work effectively in large-scale RFID applications due to their complexity.A thorough study of the structure of data in RFID applications allowed us to summarize their data and operational characteristics, hence a completely new algorithm with significant improvements in MMDB index structure was created. The changes in algorithm and index structure enabled the MMDB to support all interface operations satisfying the EPC Global standards,so that the data storage was decreased to its lowest possible level in the database, assuring that every tag has only one record.Owing to the extremely large-scale queries capability of RFID,its time complexity falls to O(n).
