DPVM: AN ENHANCED PVM SUPPORTING TASK MIGRATION AND QUEUING

The DPVM, a system based on queuing for dynamic scheduling and migrating parallel tasks, is presented in this paper. It is able to dynamically choose idle machines for executing parallel tasks, and make load balanced by migratingtasks among machines. It improves the utilization of resources and responding timeof jobs. Experiments with typical applications show that DPVM can make PVM applications run with better performance.
