Research on meshing algorithm of aluminum profile extrusion flow model

According to the characteristics of aluminum profile extrusion flow model,a type of hexahedral meshing algorithm for aluminum profile extrusion numerical simulation system with the finite volume method was developed.Based on this algorithm,the grid size and density could be defined according to the geometric dimensions of the model.Therefore,all the geometric features of the numerical model could be captured and fitted using the grid number as little as possible,and the balance of grid number and grid quality was ensured.Finally,the numerical model for a squarehole aluminum profile extrusion system was meshed using the developed hexahedral meshing algorithm.By comparing with the mesh model obtained using Hypermesh,the grid number is reduced from 88079 to 20126,which means that the developed hexahedral meshing algorithm is very helpful for improving the numerical calculation efficiency.
