Execution plans produced by traditional query optimizers for data integration queries may yield poor performance for severalreasons. The cost estimates may be inaccurate, the memory available at run-time may be insufficient, or the data delivery rate can beunpredictable. All these problems have led we to resort to dynamic strategies to correct or adapt the static QEP. The different basic tech-niques were identified that must be integrated ina dynamicquery engine to solvethe problem of unpredictable dataarrival rates, adynamicquery processing architecture was proposed which includes three dynamic layers: the dynamic query optimizer, the scheduler and thequery processor.
