Research on TCP Congestion Control Strategies Based on Simulation

Wang Hua · Jisuanji gongcheng · 2004

This paper discusses different TCP congestion control strategies such as Reno, Sack, and Vegas. Simulation results are used to evaluate the performance of TCP Reno and TCP Vegas under different network conditions. Furthermore, it proposes a new method of round trip time (RTT) estimation, named exponential weighted moving average RTT. Simulation results manifest that improved TCP Vegas can maintain its performance against short time disturbance, which means a better quality of service.
