Development of Monitoring System for Coal-transportingin Power Plant

The design of a monitoring system based on PLC and host computer for coal transporting in power plant is presented. The realization of hardware and software configuration is also explained. And the emphasis of the work is the design of supervisory software using VB and SQL Server, including the main technology of HMI, serial communication, and database access, etc. The system has friendly HMI and full supervisory functions with low cost. Application indicates that it can control coal-transporting system effectively, and also can integrated with MIS.
