Architecture of Wireless Sensor Networks

Based on the analysis of application characteristics of the wireless sensor, the main factors for architecture design of wireless sensor networks are summarized, and the two-dimension system architecture and networking schemes of wireless sensor networks are discussed. The characteristics of the layered and planed design of wireless sensor networks are also elaborated by contrasting them with traditional Ad hoc networks. It is concluded that traditional sensors that are mainly applied in the military field have great application potential in the civil area.
