Automatic Synthesis of Fault Tree for Control Systems Based on System Analysis

A methodology of automatic fault tree synthesis is proposed in this paper.It is based on system analysis.In this algorithm,the database describing cause-and-effect models for control loops and components is built first.Then flow chart and adjacency matrix are employed to determine the direct relationship between absolute components,control loops,and uncontrollable disturbances from the outside.Through that,the frame model for fault tree is determined.By searching the database for corresponding cause-and-effect models,fault tree for the system is synthesized automatically.An example is provided to prove the validity and feasibility of the algorithm.
