Application of Empirical Mode Decomposition to High-speed Ball Bearing Diagnosis

It uses the Empirical Mode Decomposition(EMD)for the diagnosis of high-speed ball bearing.It discusses the main idea and the theory of EMD,describes the fundamental steps of EMD application to diagnose the high-speed ball bearing,applies the presented approach to analyze signals collected from the high-speed ball bearing in a gearbox.The result shows that application of EMD can highlight the fault characteristics of vibration signals in diagnosing high-speed rolling bearings and improve the accuracy of the fault diagnosis.
