On Cone Form Feature Recognition for Three-cone Bit

The realization mechanisms and technologies of form feature recognition are elaborated.Taking account of the characteristic of cone,the rule-based string template matching approach is perfected and used to recognize the cone-surface form feature successfully.The combination of the recognition method based on model-conduction and the top-down recognition method is developed to recognize the typical features of cone rapidly and availably.A three-cone bit feature recognition system is developed.The following results can be achieved: Interactive feature recognition can cover more than 90 percent cone features and automated feature recognition can cover more than 70 percent cone features.It is a practical example of the feature recognition system for 2D engineering drawing of rotational parts and other application areas.
