In order to make reference in choosing different memory mechanisms in early stage of multiprocessor design process,we integrated two kinds of memory mechanisms(shared and distributed memories) into Simulink-based MPSoC design flow to evaluate the performance for both mechanisms. In Motion-JPEG decoder case study, the developing time for Global FIFO(GFIFO),which represented for GSM,is less than DMS,which represented DSM.DMS decreased execution time and communication time compared to GFIFO.We can make accurate decisions in early multiprocessors design stages based on the results.
