Congruences on a bicyclic semigroup

The bicyclic semigroup plays a very important role in the theory of regular semigroups.In this paper,the aruthor discusses the congruences on a bicyclic semigroup concerning either identity congruence or group congruences,and describes the minimum group congruence σ={((s,t),(k,l)∈S×S and {s-k=t-l}.
