Co-word clustering analysis for hot research areas of drug targets

Drug targets in post-genomic era are the source of innovative drugs.The understanding of hot research areas of drug targets will benefit the development of targeted innovative drugs.In this article,we download the relevant documents from MEDLINE database and describe a co-word clustering analysis,in combination with clustering maps,strategic diagram and expertise to reveal the hot research areas of drug targets.The results show that the current studies are focusing on targets in the anti-tumor areas,particularly in the enzyme pharmacology.Drug target development technologies such as crystallography,computer simulation and biological models should also be paid close attention.
