A Qualitative Approach to Content-based Image Retrieval with Histogram

Indexing and Retrieval based on histogram is common in CBIR. But this approach is computationally intensive and illuminationally sensitive. A qualitative histogram approach is proposed in this paper. The qualitative histogram approach is based on the qualitative descriptions of histogram wave shape, it can preserve the content constancy.
